Modul movements

The Modul mechanical movements are designed by Seiko. We base our watches on the world’s most popular automatic movement design, NH series of movements. This means durability, longevity and low service costs, should anything break.

Movement type: Automatic, self winding mechanical.
Power reserve: ~41 hours
Accuracy range: within -10~+20 seconds per day under normal conditions.

When you configure your build the optimal caliber is automatically chosen and the price is adjusted accordingly. We have thought about this a lot so you don't have to. But if you're still interested, here is more info on each one we use:

The Nitty Gritty

NH34A

NH34A is used when the build has a functioning GMT hand.

Manufacturer: Seiko Instruments (SII), Time Module.
Movement type: Automatic, self winding mechanical.
Power reserve: ~41 hours
Accuracy range: within -10~+20 seconds per day under normal conditions.
Jewels: 24

The Seiko/TMI/SII caliber NH34A is an automatic movement based on the  Seiko branded 4R34. As part of the NH family of movements, the notable feature in the NH34 is the GMT complication (24 hour hand). This movement was released in Summer 2022.

NH35A

NH35A is normally used when the dial has a date window and no GMT functionality. This caliber is robust enough that we also use it, with slight modification, on watches with no date window.

Manufacturer: Seiko Instruments (SII), Time Module
Movement type: Automatic, self winding mechanical.
Power reserve: ~41 hours
Accuracy range: within -10~+20 seconds per day under normal conditions.
Jewels: 24

The Seiko/TMI/SII caliber NH35A is a hand-windable, hacking upgrade from the Seiko caliber NH25A. Basically an unbranded version of the Seiko caliber 4R35. This caliber have been around since 2011-2012, meaning it is very well proven with a great track record.

The NH35A is currently one of the world’s most popular automatic movements, widely available in many different brand watches.

NH36A

NH36A is used when the dial has a day and a date window.

Manufacturer: Seiko Instruments (SII), Time Module
Movement type: Automatic, self winding mechanical.
Power reserve: ~41 hours
Accuracy range: within -10~+20 seconds per day under normal conditions.
Jewels: 24

The Seiko/TMI/SII caliber NH36 (NH36A) is a hand-windable, hacking upgrade from the Seiko caliber NH26A. The Seiko NH36A movement is basically an unbranded version of the Seiko caliber 4R36 found in the Next Generation Orange Monster, among others. In other words, the 4R36 is used in Seiko branded watches, the NH36 is sold to other brands for use in non-Seiko watches.

NH38A

NH38A is normally used when the dial is of open heart design, displaying the heart of the watch, the balance wheel.

Manufacturer: Seiko Instruments (SII), Time Module
Movement type: Automatic, self winding mechanical.
Power reserve: ~41 hours
Accuracy range: within -10~+20 seconds per day under normal conditions.
Jewels: 24

The Seiko/TMI/SII caliber NH38A is very similar to the caliber NH35A.The NH38 series is often found with an open balance wheel at 9:00 on the dial. The NH38A is a 3-hander “no-date” movement. It is a true no-nate without a phantom date crown position. Another difference is that the NH38A is partially skeltonized with an open balance wheel.

NH70A

NH70A is one of the three movements normally used when the watch has a skeletonized dial, displaying more of the mechanics than the 34/35/36/38 calibers.

Manufacturer: Seiko Instruments (SII), Time Module
Movement type: Automatic, self winding mechanical.
Power reserve: ~41 hours
Accuracy range: within -10~+20 seconds per day under normal conditions.
Jewels: 24

The Seiko/TMI/SII caliber NH70A is a skeletonized automatic caliber in the NH family of watch movements. This movement is based on the popular NH3 (NH35A) framework therefore is hackable as well as hand-windable.

NH71A

NH71A is the second of the three movements normally used when the watch has a skeletonized dial, displaying more of the mechanics than the 34/35/36/38 calibers. It differs from previous caliber thanks to its gold color plating.
