Ecological footprint
1 Modul is actively practicing the three Rs: reducing consumption, reusing items whenever possible, and recycling materials to minimize waste.
2 Modul optimises for sustainable transportation by economically encouraging the use of public transportation, biking, or walking whenever feasible. This helps reduce carbon emissions and combat air pollution.
3 Modul continually improves its business operations footprint by adopting modern practices and technologies. Part time work from home and video meetings decreases the need for transportation. Owning energy-efficient appliances and adjusting thermostat settings helps to conserve energy and reduce carbon emissions.
4 Modul contributes to global reforestation by planting trees. This is the main contributor to the negative CO₂ and CO₂e footprint, reducing the CO₂ in the atmosphere (negative means good in this case!). Each product sold gets more trees planted and protected, as indicated on the product page. Modul is climate positive (but here, positive is the good thing) based on carbon footprint calculations including both our products and complete company operations.
Planting the wrong trees, or planting trees in a place where they shouldn’t be can cause serious harm to delicate ecosystems. This is why Modul has chosen the Eden Reforestation Projects as its operating partner.
5 The founder of Modul also personally contributes to environmental conservation by planting trees and supporting green spaces. And, from time to time, allowing the deer to munch on his yard plants without scaring them away.
5 Modul is always searching for collaborations to raise awareness about environmental issues among customers and community. 6 Modul exclusively utilises vehicles of hybrid or exclusively electrical propulsion within its operations.
7 Modul is working towards replacing the plastic used in its packaging to recycled materials.
8 Modul supports local and sustainable products for its business operations as far as it is possible. Locally sourced and sustainably produced goods reduces carbon footprints associated with long-distance transportation and encourage environmentally friendly practices.
9 As far as it is possible, Modul encourages suppliers and collaboration partners to follow the general guidelines listed in the points above.
In the end, every individual effort count, so by making conscious choices Modul is already making a difference in taking care of, and restoring, the environment.
Social footprint
For now there is only one person working in this company, the founder, so take these as mostly aspirational but for what its worth:
1 Modul is already making sure to choose business partners with strong fair labor practices, responsible sourcing, and transparent supply chains.
2 Modul will prioritize employee well-being through initiatives such as work-life balance programs, mental health support, and professional development opportunities contributes to a positive social footprint.
3 When the comes to expand operations, partnerships with local employment offices will ensure a wide array of people get the opportunity to step into, or back into, the job market.
4 As Modul grows we will make sure to invest in employee engagement. Encouraging employee engagement through opportunities for feedback, participation in decision-making, as open communication channels fosters a sense of ownership and empowerment.
